He has served in various capacities, including Assistant Advocate General, Senior Deputy Advocate General, and Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana. Born on April 13, 1956, into a reputed Brahmin family with deep roots in India's freedom movement. Sh. Kamal Sharma has been an active participant in both the legal and political arenas. His dedication to public service is reflected in his multiple roles within the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, where he has held key positions such as Secretary, President of the Human Rights Department, and Chairman of the Legal Department. Political Experience

• Allotted the Party Ticket for Safidon Assembly Election in Feb. 2000, which was later on withdrawn and thereafter worked as a sincere and loyal worker of the party as an observer for Kaloi Assembly Constituency (Haryana).

• Filed Election Petition against the returned candidate of INLD Sh. Ram Phal Kundu, whose election was set aside by the Hon'ble High Court. The Supreme Court reversed the decision of the High Court.

• Contested the Assembly Election from Safidon Constituency held in 1996 and lost the election by narrow margin.

• Worked as an Observer for Chandni Chowk Assembly Constituency in November 1998-appointed by All India Congress Committee, New Delhi.

• Appointed in charge to look into the party affairs in Karnal and Panipat Constituencies by the Pradesh Congress Committee when he was the Secretary of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee.

• Worked as in charge for Safidon Assembly Segment during Sonipat Lok Sabha Elections, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024.

• Member in Chando Kalan Commission headed by Justice Gurnam Singh.

• Participated in the agitations and dharnas launched by the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee against the misrule of Janta Dal Party and Government of Haryana. In this contest. COURTED ARREST FOUR TIMES as per details given below :-

  • Arrested U/S 107/151 Cr.P.C. vide DDR No. 34 dated 15.11.99, Police Station Central, Chandigarh for participating in the protest march led by Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, President. Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee against the inclusion of the name of Shri Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors Charge-sheet and against the anti-farmer policies of the Haryana Govt.

  • Arrested and jailed under Section 147/148/149/333/353/186/188 IPC in the District Jail, Chandigarh from 21.12.89 to 25.12.89.

  • Arrested and jailed in Sept. 1989.

  • Arrested and jailed in May, 1989.
